CAPG committees are a great way to get involved and make connections. Effective committee participation brings together member viewpoints which might not otherwise be heard. As a committee member, you can help the Board create value for our members and achieve the Association’s strategic goals and directions in a tangible and measurable way.
Advocacy & Partnerships Committee
Advocacy & Partnerships Committee
The Advocacy & Partnerships Committee is to provide oversight and direction for CAPG’s role as an advocate for our members on issues of police governance with the provincial police board associations, provincial governments and as a national advocate on issues of police governance.
The Committee shall be composed of at least two members or more appointed by the Board, with one member designated as Chair. The Committee shall meet at least four times each year or at the call of the
Chair. The Committee may invite other board members and members of the CAPG to attend meetings and assist in the discussion and consideration of the business of the Committee.
Subject to the powers and duties of the Board, the Committee shall:

Finance Committee
The Revenue Generating Committee’s purpose is to identify and secure additional sources of revenue through accessing grants, sponsorships, foundations and any other opportunities that might arise.

First Nations Police Governance Council
First Nations Police Governance Council
The purpose of the CAPG First Nations Governance Council (“the Council”) is to provide a focus on First Nations governance issues on a national level. The Council shall provide a forum for all First Nations Governance Boards to provide input and access resource information on First Nations Governance models and practices. The Council shall also act as an advocate in areas on First Nations Governance requirements.
The Committee has no authority to bind the board or the Canadian Association of Police Governance.

The purpose of the CAPG Conference Committee (“the Committee”) is to convene members to knowledge share and build common perspectives on civilian governance.

Technology & Advancement Committee
Technology & Advancement Committee
In line with the 2025/2027 Strategic Plan, the Technology & Advancement Committee through
its governance responsibilities support the development of improving CAPG’s information
technology and technology projects. Among the projects to be considered by the Committee include, but are not limited to, providing recommendations that improve administrative, promotional and financial processes supporting the overall mandate of the organization.
All recommendations from the TAC will be forwarded to the CAPG Board of Directors for final approval.
